Early Childhood Education BS
Learn to shape the future through the power of education.
Early Childhood Education is more than a career – it’s the opportunity to instill a love of learning in young minds.
Early childhood educators can be among the most impactful figures in a young child’s life and play a major role in their future educational success. It’s a rewarding career with growth opportunities (no pun intended).
In-Demand Careers

Why Early Childhood Education? | Why Our Program?
- Demand for early childhood educators is expected to increase more than elementary and high school teachers as the availability and awareness of preschool programs grows.
- Choose from three concentrations: birth to three, community programs, or teaching. Graduates from the teaching concentration are eligible for full certification to teach pre-K-2 in Rhode Island.
- Students study in the recently renovated Horace Mann Hall, a state-of-the-art facility for teacher preparation, and gain classroom experience in schools through Rhode Island.
- Topics covered in the Early Childhood Education Bachelor of Science curriculum: Cognitive development and learning; social/emotional development; early childhood development; English language arts; mathematics; developmental literacy.
The Feinstein School of Education and Human Development at 91pron is a nationally-recognized leader in the field and has a legacy of producing award-winning educators.

Hear from a Student
Elisa Rivera
"My hope is that I have fostered a love of learning in my students. I want them to feel confident, empowered, supported and prepared for the next school year. I want them to know that although they will move on to the next grade, they will always be my students."
Students with Character
“I hope my story encourages all young people to attend school and keep on going,” says Jacqueline Lawson.
