Dr. Bousseau is a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience in community mental health services, inpatient treatment, individualized treatment planning, case management, and discharge planning. Her clinical practice has focused on individual, family, and group therapy with adults in various settings. Her areas of expertise include crisis intervention, severe and persistent mental illness, psychoeducation, and inpatient care. Dr. Bousseau has over 14 years of experience in the field.
Her primary research interest includes quality of life after a traumatic experience as well as the reintegration of veterans into their communities after sustaining traumatic brain injury in combat. Dr. Bousseau presented her dissertation research at the 2014 Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Annual Program Meeting in Tampa, FL.
Dr. Bousseau has taught in a variety of content areas in both BSW and MSW programs including: human behavior in the social environment, history of social work and social welfare, human behavior in the social environment II, contemporary social policy, human behavior diversity & oppression (HBDO), direct practice, field seminar, understanding social change: issues of race and gender as well as mental health diagnostics. She received her DSW from the University of Pennsylvania, her MSW from Simmons College, and her BA from Wheelock College.
